The Model KSE-35HC2L8 life preserver is a constant wear life preserver worn during the entire flight.  It is packed in a bright yellow pouch that is buckled around the waist with a belt strap.  In an emergency, the inflatable portion of the life preserver is pulled out of the pouch and donned over the head with one, single handed motion. Jerking down on the red pull tabs inflates the life preserver with CO2 automatically in seconds.

This life preserver is ideal for over water helicopter flights.

Helicopter tour operators can run many flights a day.  For tours over water, such as in Hawaii, passengers are required to don the life preservers before flight, wear them during the entire flight, remove them after the tour, and the dump them into a collection bin before leaving.  The operators liked using the KSE-3HC2L8 but were finding the pouch on the old part number P0723E109P life preserver would quickly become worn and dirty in this high usage situation.

EAM's answer is the new part number P0723E129P life preserver.  It includes a new pouch design that is hemmed along all exposed edges to prevent fabric fraying and coating de-lamination.  The pouch is made from a Underwriters Laboratories recognized nylon fabric that also meets the flame retardant requirements of the FAA.  A light, outside coating of urethane makes the fabric weather, UV and abrasion resistant as well as easy to wipe clean.  Also, the metal snap fastners that kept the old pouch closed have been replaced with longer lasting hook and loop fasteners.

The Model KSE-35HC2L8 part number P0723E129P is a FAA TSO-C13e Approved, adult category, dual chamber life preserver providing 35 pounds of buoyancy when inflated.  It inflates with two 16 gram CO2 cylinders and includes FAA TSO-685 survivor locator light.  It packs neatly into its 8 x 6.25 x 2.5 inch (203 x 159 x 64 mm) pouch and weighs only 1.3 pounds (0.60 kg).  Optional whistle available.
