The YB-CHB Helicopter Yoke Band is designed primarily as Cargo Hook Backup device, whereby the Load is hooked directly to the Yoke Band O-Ring, and the O-Ring is then hooked into the helicopter Cargo Hook. If ever there is a failure of the Cargo Hook, the load will be snatched by the Yoke Band. The YB-CHB Yoke Band has a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 500 lbs. Never exceed the rated capacity when lifting.
Under normal operating conditions, the Yoke Band should be hanging with some slack in it to allow for Cargo Hook to swing around in a normal load carrying capacity. The Yoke Band itself will not be under direct load during normal operating conditions. The only time a load is normally applied to the Yoke Band is during emergency when load is transferred from Cargo Hook to the Yoke Band. (Exceptions applied for training or other operational purposes).
The YB-CHB Helicopter Yoke Band is constructed of MIL-W-4088, Type XIII Webbing. This webbing is the U.S. and NATO standard material for aerial delivery and external load operations. The Type XIII webbing is doubled, with a loop at either end. The Yoke Band is fitted with Capewell® Release hardware for emergency jettison of an external load. The Capewell® Release is fitted in the center of the Yoke Band. During flight, the Capewell® Release is only to be utilized for emergency release of the external load.
Each Yoke Band is manufactured to fit specific helicopter dimensions. Please specify exact model helicopter when inquiring about the sling. Two base models are featured here, however, we can tailor a Yoke Band to your exact measurements or operational requirements.
