The HARD Life Raft System is designed to provide total protection of the onboard life raft. The concept was initially designed for the US Special Forces 160th SOAR(A) on board CH-47 Chinook Helicopter, however the HARD Life Raft System can be easily modified for other aircraft applications.
The HARD Life Raft System is a series of life raft configurations that feature a rugged canister, environmentally packaged life raft, integrated single-point release mechanism and optional survival kit. HARD Life Raft Systems are capable of deployment by one (1) person and easily transported by 1 or 2 persons. The raft is environmentally packaged which: reduces bulk and maintenance frequency, improves storage, saves on replacement costs and protects the life raft from exposure to abrasions, foreign matter and punctures.
