The Miniflare 3™ Kit is designed primarily for offshore boating and aviation, but it has many applications as a general-purpose distress signal for camping, canoing, hiking, climbing, skiing and other outdoor pursuits.
The Miniflare 3™ consists of eight (8) flare cartridges enclosed in a water resistant, unbreakable plastic pouch which houses a pen size firing penjector. The plastic penjector house and un-cocked striker assembly for increased safety, and its smooth shape eliminates the risk of snagging on clothing or gloves.
Each cartridge projects its payload to a height of over 180 ft. (60 m), when a flare is ejected which burns for 6 seconds at 3,000 candela, visible up to 5 miles in daylight (increasing to around 10 miles at night) depending on weather conditions. The ingenious plastic Penjector is fitted with a stainless steel spring and striker pin, and features a unique bayonet fitting with a simple twist-on action for loading the cartridge.

Operation1. Remove projector from plastic pack and screw threaded end into base of cartridge.
2. Withdraw projector complete with cartridge.
3. Hold projector vertically and depress trigger with thumb and release. The cartridge will fire instantaneously.
4. Unscrew spent cartridge. Repeat as required
