Overview
A personal downed-pilot locator transmitter intended for pocket, flight bag, or survival kit. Manually operated, 121.5 & 243.0 MHz simultaneous frequency, 1,200+ mile range and can withstand 20 hrs complete submersion in salt water.
Description
Here is the portable rescue beacon no pilot should be without! The EBC 102 is a personal downed-pilot locator transmitter intended for pocket, flight bag, or survival kit. This manually operated beacon supplements the FAA required automatically activated Emergency Locator Transmitter. The EBC 102 is slightly larger than a pack of cigarettes and weighs only 12 ounces. A permanently attached lanyard allows you to conveniently secure the unit to your belt, survival pack, or life jacket loop during over water flights. Its alkaline battery pack enables the ELT to transmit continuously for 72 hours at 50°F. Battery replacement is easily accomplished in the field without compromising the circuitry's waterproof encapsulation.

The EBC 102 is designed to the same rugged environmental standards as the rest of the EBC ELT line. This small unit will withstand up to 1000 G's of shock. It has a telescoping antenna for easy storage and transportation. The EBC 102 has an easily removed aluminum safety screw cap to eliminate inadvertent activation. This unit transmits simultaneously on both internationally recognized, satellite monitored distress frequencies. A built-in test lamp allows you to check for proper operation. The EBC 102 is FCC Type Accepted to Part 87 (25 KHz); meets all the specifications established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for personnel rescue beacons, and meets all US and Canadian specifications for personnel rescue beacons. The EBC 102 - peace of mind in the palm of your hand.
